When it comes to style, we all have go-to brands that we love. Whether it’s North Face fleeces or cargo pants from Gap, big brands have staples that make them identifiable reference points (and thus easily accessible) for shoppers. However, there’s something refreshing about discovering independent labels are bursting with new vision and creativity. The Line By K is one of them.

Crafted by fashion blogger Kayla Deras, the sleek womenswear line focuses on sexy silhouettes while being, “effortlessly cool.” The current iteration is robust with soft, body contouring dresses, barely there bodysuits and more. Think Urban Outfitters style, but elevated quality. The best part? It’s all domestically made in the great city of Angels.

To dive into the line, I picked up two bodysuits that I could not stop eyeing while browsing the site. The first, (also known as The Evelyn) stood out for its henley style with unique asymmetrical buttons.

Only offered in the camel color, this is perfect for pairing with light wash denim and heels.

The second (called The Elsa) offers a little more in terms of color options -- available in camel, black and white -- with the same level of sexy. As soon as I removed this from the packaging I fell in love with the off the shoulder design and super flattering sweetheart neckline with accent buttons. Initially, I was concerned about whether this one would have issues with staying up, but its body hugging design really lends itself to functionality.

Speaking of which, my favorite both pieces by far is that the buttons actually work. One of my biggest pet peeves are accent items (buttons, zippers, pockets etc.) that aren't functional, so realizing that these were was truly a relief.

All in all, I can't wait to get my hands on more of the line because who wouldn't want to stand behind a company who's motto is make you "feel sexy and strong at all times?"
